4th Grade Physical Education June 2020

Hello everyone!
First of all, I hope you're doing ok and you are safe and sound at home :)

This section is going to be our little space for P.E classes in 4th Grade for JUNE. I'll upload activities every week, with different things, I'd like you to do at home. Moreover, it would be awesome if you could comment here what you think about the activities or if you had any problems or have suggestions, I'll be happy to read you :)

JUNE 1ST - 5TH

Warm up!

To start this week set of activities, don't forget to warm up :) You can do the warm up we used to do in class, involving the following joints: shoulders, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and neck.
Here you have a picture suggesting a different type of warm up that you can follow if you prefer.

Sticky note wall bop

Attach 26 or 27 sticky notes (or pieces of paper with some tape) to the back of a door. 26 is you do it with the English alphabet, 27 if you include "ñ" from Spanish. Make a "start line" on the floor a few meters away from the door with some tape. You'll be behind that line with a soft ball, bean bag, stuffed animal, a paper ball or a pair a rolled up socks. The purpose os the game is the following.

You have to hit the letters that form a word that you've previously chosen. For example, I you choose the word "island". They have to hit the letters in order to make the word "island". You can choose the difficulty but adjusting the length of the word and if you have to start all over if you miss a word or not.

Floor bop

This games is similar to the previos one, but now you have to aim on the floor and not on a wall/door. You can apply the same rules from the game above.
Moreover, if you want, you can change the game a little bit, and instead of having letters, you can make boxes with different colors, like you'll see in he pictures below.

Alphabetical!!

This is an online game like "Pasapalabra" but in English :)

 I Hope you like it!

JUNE 8TH - 12TH

This week we are going to work on something different. We are going to be playing traditional games from Spain and more specifically from Madrid.

We are going to see four different games you can play. Moreover, you'll see a task in Microsoft Teams I'd like you to complete. You'll just have to answer some questions about other traditional games you might know and like.

Let's start with the games :)

- Chito: it's a simple game were you toss a "tejo" (metal disc) to try to hit and knock down a wood cylinder.

- Pins or bowling: this is a different game from what you might think. It's similar to bowling but not exactly the same. There are nine pins and you have two balls. You throw the first ball from 7 -8 meters. The purpose is to try to knock down as many pins as you can, taking into account all of them are worth one point except for the red one, that's worth 5 points. Then you throw the second ball from where the first one landed.

- Bote botero: this game is really similar to "hide and seek". One of the players is it. This person has to count with their eyes closed, while the rest go hide somewhere.
It has a "bote" a cylinder or a ball, that has to touch every time they see/discover someone. If someone who's hiding knocks down the ball/cylinder before "it" can touch it and say that person's name, everyone will be saved and we start all over.

- The frog: this is a tossing game, similar to chito. Every player tosses 10 small metal coins, that have to go through the holes of a special table/board. Different holes are worth different points.

I hope you like these games! ¡Espero que os gusten!
