2nd Grade Arts and Crafts April 2020

Welcome everyone!

This is going to be our little section for Arts and Crafts in 2nd Grade for April, I hope you enjoy it :)

I will update this section every week with a new craft or piece of art you can do at home. It is divided into months because I think it'll make everything easier in terms of organizing what you can do every week of every month :) 

The way we are going to work I think it's easy and simple for everyone. I will update this section with something you can do at home. Once you've finished you can send me and image of what you did to my gmail account so I can see the awesome job you did :)

Esta será nuestra pequeña sección del Blog para las clases de Arte de 2º de Primaria, espero que os guste :)

Actualizaré esta página de forma semanal con cosas que podéis hacer en casa. Está dividida en secciones porque creo que será más fácil encontrar qué podéis hacer cada semana y cada mes. 

Cómo vamos a trabajar es sencillo para todos, creo y espero. Cuando terminéis alguna de las propuestas que ponga aquí, me podéis mandar una imagen a la cuenta de correo que dejo más abajo, así puedo ver las obras de arte que hacéis.

APRIL WEEK 1 (14th - 17th)

This week we are going to work on something called Kandinsky Circles. Kandinsky was a Russian artist focused on abstract representations. Here you have a video of what you can do :)

For this activity, you just need a piece of paper, crayons or some sort of color waxes. 

Castellano: en el vídeo podéis ver cómo es la actividad, solo necesitáis un folio, no hace falta que sea cartulina como en el vídeo ni de ese tamaño y lápices de colores o mejor aún ceras. 

APRIL WEEK 2 (20th - 24th)

This week we will be working on a piece of art based on the artist Piet Mondrain. He was an artist born in the 19^th century in the Netherlands.Here you have an example of his art.

I think it can be really interesting how you can attempt to do something related to his art but with your own touch.

These are the step you can follow:

1.- On a piece of paper, draw some straight lines, similar to the ones in black you see in the example.

2.- Color the rectangular shapes you want. This is the fun part, you can choose which ones you color and which one you leave blank, be creative with the colors too! J

3.- Enjoy the piece of art you just created! J

Castellano: esta semana vamos a trabajar con el autor Mondrain. He dejado unos sencillos pasos, que simplemente serían; hacer unas líneas rectas en un folio y después decidir qué rectángulos pintares y cuáles no. A ver qué tal os queda, seguro que genial J

APRIL WEEK 3 (27th - 30th)

This week's activity is not going to be based on an author like the previous weeks. This week we are going to create our own monster! Let me show you the steps you can follow to make your own and unique monster, but first, let's see a couple of examples :)

Now that we've taken a look at what our monster could look like, let's see the materials we need and the different steps. 

MATERIAL

- Scissors

- Glue

- Blank paper

- Colored paper (if you don't have it, no problem, you can use blank paper and color it yourself :)

STEPS

1.- Think of the monster you'd like to create. 

2.- Cut the body shape of your monster. 

3.- Start making the different parts of the monster (eyes, arms, legs, whatever you want).

4.- Layer the cut shapes to make your monster.

5.- When you have the monster you want, start gluing the different parts together. 

6.- Glue the big monster to a blank paper (if you want). 

7.- Enjoy your creation! ^^

Castellano: esta semana vamos a hacer nuestro propio monstruo. Más arriba tenéis ejemplos de monstruos creados de esta manera. Necesitaremos: tijeras, pegamento, un folio en blanco y papeles de colores. Si no tenéis papeles de colores y ahora es complicado quizá conseguirlos, no pasa nada. La alternativa es utilizar folios u hojas en blanco, recortamos la parte del monstruo que queremos hacer y la coloreamos. 

Los pasos son sencillos. Primero debemos pensar en el monstruo que queremos hacer. Después, cortamos las partes del monstruo y la forma del cuerpo. Colocamos todas las partes para decidir cómo queremos que quede al final. Finalmente, pegamos las partes que forman nuestro monstruo juntas, y una vez lo tengamos, podéis pegarlo en un folio en blanco o dejarlo así. El último paso, el más sencillo, a disfrutar de vuestra creación! :)
